Re: Movie Reviews

The World's End - 7/10 Great if you like Brit humor. If you liked Shawn of the Dead or Hot Fuzz, you'll like this one. Same guys, similar crazy predicament. Hansel & Gretel - 4/10 Not Impressed. I'm a little tired of these Dark Ages movies that use "automatic crossbows" because the tim...

Re: Movie Reviews

Pacific Rim: 7.8/10 I have to admit, I didn't go into this one with very high expectations, even though I love Del Toro work (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth). But I'm happy to say that i was pleasantly surprised. As far as monsters vs. robots go, it was great. Story was very predictable of coarse, but wh...

Re: Movie Reviews

Man of Steel - 6.5/10
This had some serious flaws in it. The tornado scene was unforgivable. Amy Adams was a bad choice for Lois Lane. Also, creating singularities is normally a bad idea in our world. I could go on...
I liked the Krypton stuff though.

Edit: oh yes... just saw Django Unchained - 10/10

Re: Meanwhile, in Oklahoma

OMG, it's so embarrassing to live in the buckle of the Bible belt. Thankfully the Brits beat us to the punch by forming the Flat Earth Society, or we would have done that too. I guess I'm going to have to help my son write up his senior paper about the Flying Spaghetti Monster after all. http://uplo...

Re: Baldurs Gate Enhanced

That's it. No mystery, no matrix algebra, no tables required. If only the actual rules had described it that way, instead of the backwards-ass "Subtract the target's AC from your THAC0. That is your target number (remember to add it instead if your target's AC is negative). Now roll 1d20 and a...

Re: @Ahti

So we played Small World this past weekend. What a great game! I'm definitely hooked. I bought the Ipad version and I've been playing it alot also. I'm sure I'll be getting some expansions very soon. I also got Zombie Dice, a dice game designed by the above mentioned game designer, Steven Jackson. I...

Re: Movie Reviews

Cabin In The Woods - 7/10 This was pretty cheesey, but that's what they were going for. It was entertaining, but could have been funnier. I couldn't decide if they were seriously trying to make a tongue-in-cheek tribute to teen scarey movies, or if it was just that bad. I think it was a little of bo...
